Twitter on Friday laid off half of its employees in departments across the company one week after it was acquired by billionaire Elon Musk. Twitter had about 7,500 workers prior to Musk's takeover, meaning roughly 3,700 employees were laid off. Multiple Twitter employees have filed a class-action lawsuit against the company and its new owner, stating that the layoffs are in violation of labor laws.
